Getting Started

Which technique should I start with?

Pick the one that matches what you need right now. Tired and want to wake up? Start with Power Breathing. Anxious or having trouble falling asleep? Try 4-7-8. Stressed or scattered? Go with Alternate Nostril. You can switch between them any time.

How long is a session?

It depends on the technique. A round of 4-7-8 takes about 19 seconds, default is 4 rounds. An Alternate Nostril cycle takes about 24 seconds, default is 5 cycles. Power Breathing takes longer because each round includes a self-paced retention hold, typically 2 to 3 minutes per round across 3 rounds. You can adjust rounds, cycles, and hold times for every technique.

Do I need AirPods for the voice cues?

No. Voice cues play through whatever audio output you have. AirPods or any Bluetooth headphones work well for quiet practice. The iPhone speaker, iPad speaker, or Apple Watch speaker all work too. You can mute voice cues entirely and rely on haptics if you prefer silent practice.

Apple Watch

Can I run a session on Apple Watch without my iPhone?

Yes. Pust Reset on Apple Watch runs standalone. Settings and presets sync via iCloud when both devices are online, but the session itself does not need your phone nearby.

How do I install the Watch app?

After installing Pust Reset on your iPhone, open the Watch app and scroll to Available Apps. Tap Install next to Pust Reset. It syncs to your Watch automatically.

How do I start a session faster from the Watch?

Add Pust Reset as a complication on your watch face. Tap it and you go straight to the technique picker. From there, one more tap starts the session.

Will my heart rate be tracked during the session?

Yes, when you run a session on Apple Watch and save it as a workout. Heart rate is captured as part of the Mind and Body workout and saved to Apple Health. In Mindful Minutes only mode, or in an iPhone-only session, no heart rate is saved.

Apple Health and Permissions

What health data does Pust Reset access?

You choose how each session saves to Apple Health: as a Mind and Body workout (with heart rate and activity credit), as Mindful Minutes only, or both. You can switch modes anytime in Settings. Pust Reset keeps no copy of its own, it reads your history back from Apple Health, so your data stays on your device.

Can I save sessions as mindful minutes instead of a workout?

Yes. In Settings, under Save sessions as, pick how every session is logged to Apple Health: a Mind and Body workout (heart rate and activity credit), Mindful Minutes only (no workout or activity credit), or both. You can change it anytime, and each mode only asks for the Health access it needs.

Does Pust Reset log my mood?

If you want it to. When a session ends, the summary lets you note how you feel in a few seconds. It saves as a State of Mind entry in Apple Health, the momentary emotion check-in Apple built into Health, tied to that session. Mood logging is on by default and you can turn it off anytime in Settings under Log your mood. It needs iOS 18 or watchOS 11.

How do I enable HealthKit access?

When you first complete a session, Pust Reset asks for HealthKit permission. You can also go to Settings, Privacy and Security, Health, Pust Reset to manage access at any time.

How do I revoke HealthKit access?

Open Settings, Privacy and Security, Health, Pust Reset. Toggle off any data types you want to restrict. The app keeps working without HealthKit access, but you lose session history and progress tracking.

Does Pust Reset use my location?

No. Pust Reset never requests location access. The app is for stationary breathing practice.

Free Tier and Premium

What can I do for free?

Everything, for your first week from install. After that, you get 3 completed sessions per week (resets every Monday). The whole app stays unlocked: all three techniques, the Apple Watch app, Apple Health tracking, personal bests, full session history, daily goals, streaks, and achievements, free forever. Only how often you practice is limited.

What does Premium unlock?

Premium ($4.99 one-time) removes the weekly session cap so you can practice as often as you want. That is the only difference. Every feature is already free, so you are paying to lift the limit and support the app. One purchase covers every Apple device you sign in with. No subscription.

How do I restore my purchase?

Open Pust Reset, go to Settings, tap Restore Purchases. Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.

How do I request a refund?

Refunds are handled by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, find your Pust Reset purchase, and follow the refund process.

Safety

Is Power Breathing safe?

For most healthy adults, yes, when practiced properly. Always practice Power Breathing seated or lying down, never while standing, swimming, bathing, driving, or operating machinery. Lightheadedness and tingling are normal responses to the controlled hyperventilation phase. Stop immediately if you feel faint. Consult your doctor first if you have cardiovascular, respiratory, or anxiety conditions, epilepsy, or are pregnant.

Can I do 4-7-8 lying down in bed?

Yes. 4-7-8 is gentle and works well as a pre-sleep technique. Two rounds is often enough to feel the calming effect.

Troubleshooting

Haptics are not working on my iPhone

Check that haptics are enabled in Pust Reset settings. Verify your iPhone System Haptics are on (Settings, Sounds and Haptics). Try increasing haptic intensity in the technique settings. Note that iPad does not have a haptic motor and falls back to visual cues.

My Watch is not syncing settings

Make sure both devices are signed into the same iCloud account and iCloud is enabled for Pust Reset. Try force-quitting and reopening the app on both devices.

My session did not save to Apple Health

Verify HealthKit permissions are enabled for Pust Reset. Very short sessions (under one full round) may not save. Check the Health app, Browse, Mindfulness or Workouts to see saved sessions.
